Pushing boundaries without losing its soul, Valencia delivers one of the finest culinary landscapes in Spain: deeply traditional, hyper-local, and still just a tad under-the-radar. What can beat savoring a perfectly cooked paella in situ, overlooking the Albufera rice fields where the dish was born, using local ingredients and the right pan? Scenic beauty is everywhere: the vast Albufera National Park, quiet beaches lapped by the gentle waters of the Mediterranean, scrublands scattered with herbs – striking in spring – and the Serranía mountains with their hiking trails.

Just upstream from the falls, the rustic-chic treehouses of Sussi & Chuma Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary occupy a blissfully peaceful spot on a bend in the Zambezi River, where hippos wallow and graze among the jackalberry trees. Settle into your private treehouse beforea sunset river cruise, followed by dinner.

Day 2 | Livingstone | Face to Face with the Falls

The local Lozi name it the “Smoke that Thunders” — a wholly fitting epithet for Africa’s liquid marvel, where the Zambezi River roars 300 feet down a chasm on its zigzagging course between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Set out on a privately guided walking tour of the falls, taking in the magnificent rainbows and towers of mist as the Zambezi tumbles into the chasm below, before delving into the wildlife-rich forests of Zambezi National Park on a shared game drive.

Day 3 | Chobe National Park | Wildlife Among the Wetlands

Your next stop is Chobe National Park, a vast patchwork of deep, dense forest, sprawling wetlands and grasslands covered with grazing herds. Chobe Chilwero Lodge is a luxurious retreat in the heart of the bush, located on the edge of Chobe National Park, with panoramic views over the Chobe River and floodplain below.

Elephants are the main attraction here, with over 120,000 roaming the wilds of Chobe, with hippos, impala, African wild dogs and vultures making welcome cameo appearances against the burning orange skies. Return for a late breakfast and a well-deserved rest. Late in the afternoon, take off on a game drive coupled with a bush sundowner, set to a backdrop of stunning views before driving back for dinner.

As you travel along the coast, stop in the fishing town of Ston on the Peljesac Peninsula. Historic Ston has beautiful examples of medieval architecture and fortified walls, as well as numerous monuments. The town is also known for its oysters and salt works. Meet an oysterman and join him on his boat as you sample these local favorites directly from the ocean. In Dubrovnik, settle into your hotel, which overlooks the Old Town. Once a medieval center of maritime trade that rivaled Venice, Dubrovnik was heavily damaged by military conflicts in the 1990s. Today, however, its Old Town — since restored to its former glory — is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remainder of your day is free for relaxing or to begin exploring this lovely city.

Day 5 | Dubrovnik – Streets Rich in History and Culture

Join a local guide to explore the heart of Dubrovnik, where history, culture and gastronomy all come together. Walk the city's historic streets to uncover its rich past while savoring carefully selected tastings that showcase Croatia’s diverse culinary heritage along the way. Step inside the Franciscan Monastery, admire the grandeur of the Rector’s Palace and take in sweeping views of the Adriatic from the iconic city walls. Continue to a jewelry workshop and witness the mastery behind Dubrovnik’s venerated traditional silverwork. Your evening is free to explore this romantic medieval city on your own, perhaps sampling its fine cuisine at a local restaurant.

Day 6 | Dubrovnik – Wine Tasting and Silk Weaving

Venture to the picturesque Konavle Valley, a region renowned for its fertile landscapes, centuries-old agricultural traditions and outstanding local produce. Travel through rolling vineyards, lush orchards and golden fields of grain, taking in the pastoral beauty of this rural heartland. Partake in a tasting of carefully crafted Konavle wines and a light lunch of regional specialties at a local winery. Learn how the valley’s unique climate and rich soil have shaped its celebrated winemaking heritage. Then visit a traditional silk-weaving workshop, where skilled artisans keep alive a craft that has been passed down for over 500 years. Admire the artistry behind the meticulously detailed Konavle embroidery, traditionally used in folk costumes and ceremonial attire. After this immersive experience, return to Dubrovnik with the remainder of your day unscheduled.

    Day 7 | Depart Dubrovnik

This morning, take your private transfer to the airport for your departing flight.

    Itinerary:

Day 1 | Arrive Nairobi, Kenya

Touch down in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, which serves as your gateway to safari adventure. Kenya is classic safari country featuring vast national parks and reserves brimming with the iconic wildlife most associated with an African safari. These include the fabled Big Five — lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and Cape Buffalo — along with countless other species, from zebras and wildebeests to cheetahs and giraffes. It’s also home to the pastoral Maasai people who live in harmony with the land.

Day 2 | Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Intimate Luxury Camp

Begin your luxury safari adventure with a drive from Nairobi to Nanyuki, crossing the equator as you go. Continue to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a private reserve encompassing 90,000 acres of unspoiled African landscape where the Big Five roam, and arrive at your stunning tented camp in time for lunch. Nestled among fever trees in the shadow of Mount Kenya, Tambarare Camp in Laikipia looks out across a grassy plateau. Your tent is large and airy, with a private veranda and an en-suite bathroom that features a walk-in shower. Tonight, gather for a welcome dinner.

Day 3 | Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Into the Bush

Set out on a morning game drive highlighted by an up-close visit with the world’s last northern white rhinos in their heavily guarded enclosure. Then, make a late afternoon game drive in this biodiverse home to black rhinos, reticulated giraffes and Grévy’s zebras.

Day 4 | Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Design Your Day

This morning, set out on an exhilarating game drive, before enjoying one of these Design Your Day activities.

-Take a Guided Bush Walk accompanied by a ranger, getting up close to life in the African bush.

-Interact with the Dogs of an Anti-Poaching Unit and test their skills as you hide and let them sniff you out.

Later this afternoon, head out on a game drive, followed by dinner in camp.

Day 5 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Wildlife Abounding

Fly to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and your private tented camp — set up exclusively for you and your fellow A&K guests and taken down right after you leave — occupying a secluded location in the heart of the wilderness. This afternoon, set out on a game drive that introduces you to the Maasai Mara. The action never seems to stop, and the chain of command begins with the Mara’s lion population, the largest in the country. The delicate ecosystem of the Mara is the focus of a major conservation effort to preserve one of Africa’s last true game strongholds. During your time in the Maasai Mara, enjoy the peace of mind that comes with staying at A&K Exclusive Tented Camp.

Day 6 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Endless Discovery

On morning and afternoon game drives, observe crocodiles basking in the sun, hippos wallowing in muddy water, elephants rustling along the forest edge and graceful giraffes snatching leaves from high branches. Enjoy the option, today or tomorrow, to lift off on a hot air balloon ride (at an additional cost), gliding over the plains and taking in the game-rich landscapes from a low-level aerial perspective. After today’s activities, return to camp, where a chef demonstrates how to cook the local dish ugali (a porridge similar to polenta). Then learn hands-on how to scoop up beans, cooked greens and condiments with the ugali and sample your concoction.

Day 7 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Visit a Maasai Village

Set out on morning and afternoon game drives. On an A&K-exclusive experience, stop at a Maasai village and visit a local school on the edge of the Mara (when in session) to see a LifeStraw Water Filter that purifies water for teachers and students — like the ones funded by each departure of this journey — a project supported by A&K Philanthropy. Later, sip a refreshing cocktail before your farewell dinner.

Day 3 | Tarangire National Park – A Lesson in Local Cuisine

Your local expert driver-guide draws on years of experience in the bush to locate the best wildlife viewing opportunities right as they happen. Later, this afternoon, learn how to prepare local dishes like ugali and kachumbari as part of a chef-led culinary experience.

Day 4 | Ngorongoro Crater – Amphitheater of Animals

As you cross the Great Rift Valley, stop for a market visit in a local village where stalls brim with vibrant local produce. Then, see the village from a different perspective as you ride by tuk-tuk, viewing the local community and rice fields as you go. Next, take a scenic drive to tranquil Gibb’s Farm, where you stop for a lunch made with organic, just-picked ingredients. Later, arrive at the natural amphitheater of Ngorongoro Crater, a 2,000-foot-deep caldera. A fascinating microcosm of East African wildlife — including buffalo, flamingoes, lions and leopards — resides inside. Climb the outer wall, passing through dense vegetation until a breathtaking view across the crater floor appears. Arrive at your camp, nestled in a wooded area with easy access to the crater floor and featuring elegant, tented accommodations adorned with handwoven rugs, comfortable beds with crisp linens and en-suite bathrooms. Relax on your veranda to view a gathering of acacia trees akin to an enchanted forest, watching in awe as late afternoon light peeks through the woodland and a campfire crackles in front of the main lounge, creating an almost magical atmosphere.

Day 5 | Ngorongoro Crater – Natural Wildlife Haven

Descend into the crater, arriving ahead of most visitors — thanks to the closer proximity of your ideally located accommodations — to view the resident wildlife at its most active time of day. This afternoon, visit with an elder at a Maasai village, where you learn about the tribe’s traditional, nomadic lifestyle and coexistence with wildlife. Sense the spirit of this pastoral, nomadic people who have kept their tribal traditions alive through countless generations of life in East Africa.

Day 6 | Serengeti National Park – Searching the Vast Plains

Fly to the fabled Serengeti National Park and settle into your remote, authentic camp. Then, set out in the boundless Serengeti, one of the oldest and least-changed ecosystems on earth, where the circle of life plays out every day. It is home to one of the world’s largest concentrations of wildlife, with lions, hyenas and leopards all roaming free. For a portion of each year, dictated by weather patterns and the unpredictable nature of wild animals, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the Serengeti in search of grass and water as part of the year-round Great Migration cycle. This evening, sip a cocktail and reflect on the majesty of Africa, a relaxing experience that harkens back to safaris of yore.

Day 7 | Serengeti National Park – Intimate Bush Lunch

    Itinerary:

Day 1 | Arrive Munich, Germany

Effortless style, warm summers and cold al fresco beers: little wonder Munich is wryly described as Italy’s most northern city. And yet the Bavarian capital is Germany at its most quintessential: the home of lederhosen, rococo palaces and BMW. In this former royal capital in the shadow of the Alps, days can be spent drifting from one world-class art gallery to the next, hitting the boutiques of Maximilianstrasse or idling by the banks of the Eisbach as it ripples through the vast English Garden.

    Day 2 | Munich – Casting Off

Today, visit Munich’s Residence Palace, followed by time to explore the city on your own. Then, board your riverboat in nearby Passau. After relaxing in your cabin or suite, meet fellow guests for a cocktail and dinner on board.

Day 3 | Vienna, Austria – Waltzing Along the Danube

Perched on the banks of the Danube, there’s an effortless elegance to the place Beethoven called home. Here, drive the famous Ringstrasse, explore Schönbrunn Palace and step the Viennese waltz in one of the city’s most esteemed dance schools.

Day 4 | Budapest, Hungary – Ringing in the New Year

The Hungarian capital has long been one of Europe’s great powerhouses, and it certainly looks the part – the Danube is the living line between Buda and Pest, the spires of the national parliament shimmering in its surface, the neoclassical dome of St Stephen’s Basilica behind. Take in the city’s main sights, including Fisherman’s Bastion, Heroes’ Square and the Great Synagogue, followed by a visit to the Parliament building. This evening, the city is illuminated by a spectacular fireworks display as you cruise the Danube on a floating New Year’s Eve celebration unlike any other.

    Day 5 | Budapest – New Year’s Day

After a leisurely morning, your ship leaves Budapest with the remainder of the afternoon spent cruising the Danube.

Day 6 | Bratislava, Slovakia – Culinary Adventure

Bratislava’s Gothic old town is offset by Baroque palaces, imposing castles, communist-era apartment blocks and over-the-top statues. Here, see the castle and the "fairy tale" Blue Church. Then, join a local chef for a hands-on cooking class preparing classic Slovakian dishes. After time to explore Bratislava on your own, attend a private cocktail party and chef’s dinner.

Day 7 | Melk, Austria – Palatial Abbey

Arrive in Melk, where you visit its famed Benedictine abbey. Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube, the abbey allures with soaring gilded towers, an elaborately frescoed church and a vast library of medieval manuscripts. This evening, attend a Captain’s gala dinner on board.

Day 8 | Munich, Germany – Brewery Visit

Return to Passau and disembark your boat for a walking tour of the town. Continue to Munich, where you visit a traditional, family-owned brewery for a tasting and lunch. Tonight, join your fellow guests for a farewell dinner.

    Day 9 | Depart Munich

After breakfast, take your private transfer to the airport for your departing flight.
